A homebuilt classic...that's also prebuilt!
First unveiled in 1985, Lancair homebuilt kits were winning awards at airshows all over the country by the early 1990's. Great Planes' ARF version of the Lancair ES has many of the same attributes as the aircraft that inspired it (including a classy appearance that looks fast even when sitting on the ground). Basically any maneuver you can think of — loops, spins, snap rolls and inverted flight — the Lancair excels at. You'll spend only 15-20 hours assembling this classic plane, which boasts superior ARF construction throughout: quality woods, MonoKote® covering, and lots of strong, lightweight fiberglass. Plus, the included Great Planes hardware adds to the plane's quality and convenience. So, if you're the type of performance-hungry R/C pilot who's always on the lookout for a plane with aerobatic potential, the Lancair is for you! It's sleek, it's speedy, and it's the first-ever ARF model of this homebuilt classic!

An aluminum spar joins the Lancair's horizontal stabilizers, which are designed to be easily removed and reattached for transporting convenience.

The durable, tricycle landing gear with supplied fairings allows easy ground handling, and matches the style of the full-size Lancair ES. All three wheel pants are made of lightweight fiberglass and prepainted to match the color scheme.

In as little as 15-20 hours, the Lancair assembles into a strikingly realistic, sport-scale plane featuring attention-getting details like upswept wing tips, tinted windows, and the fuselage panel lines shown here.

While the Lancair is capable of swift flight, it also slows very well for landings with flaps deployed. Its built-up, all-wood wing is equipped with ailerons and flaps and spans an IMAA-legal 80".
